スタート（初回時）
You see a good-looking, dark young man with an intense stare.
"Come, my friend. We have landed! Let us see how close my calculations were for our landing site."
He strides to the window and stares out for a few seconds. He moves toward the door of the capsule.
"Good, good! My calculations were precise, as usual. We are not far from the site of the 1893 landing. It should be just east of here, within easy walking distance. The others may have important information you can use on your journey. It would be wise to speak with everyone before exiting the capsule. I would also check with Mr. Garrett for some utensil with which to pry open the door of the capsule. It seems to be jammed closed."

格好の良い、暗い雰囲気の若い男が強烈に見つめている。
「友よ、来てくれ。着陸したぞ！私の計算と着地地点との誤差を見てみよう」
彼は勢いよく窓に駆け寄り、ちょっとの間外を見つめた。

He smiles companionably.

"Communications are achieved through the means of light reflection by huge mirrored surfaces. We will set them up if they are needed and I will monitor them personally to insure emergency communications."

"There should be a sextant in the hold. If you learn the coordinates of a place you wish to go to, the sextant will lead you there."

"The location for a place should be calculatable using the sextant. It will give you a set of two numbers which you can then use to find the spot again later. The coordinates for the earlier landing site, for example, are 28S, 153W."

"A fascinating planet. There have been audio signals received from here, you know. I've heard them myself. And now we are here! Fascinating world."

"Certainly an adequate scientist for our purposes. He will be a help you in your travels."

"Your mind can deliver some amazing revelations while you sleep. I understand that Dr. Freud is interested in discovering exactly what these revelations may mean and how to interpret them. I must speak to him. I have had many dreams…"

Oxygen
"Indeed. We all, as you undoubtedly know, require oxygen to live. The Martian atmosphere should have less oxygen than on Earth. Actually, if you are truly interested, you should speak to Dr. Blood. He is the expert on oxygen and air."

「そうだ。もちろん君も知っているだろうが、我らは皆、生きるために酸素が必要だ。火星の大気は地球よりも酸素が少ないだろう。このことに本当に興味があるならば、ブラッド博士と話してみるのがいい。彼は酸素と空気のエキスパートだ」

"If you're not feeling well, my man, be sure to speak to Dr. Blood. He'll soon have you fit as a fiddle. And don't report to me again until you're well. My health is of the utmost importance to our mission."

"No, no, my friend. Thank you for the honor, but I am the only one able to complete the preparations for our departure. I must remain here with my capsule."
He smiles regretfully, shaking his head.

「友よ、それはダメだ。その名誉はありがたいが、発進の準備を完全にできるのは私だけなんだ。私はカプセルの中に残っていなくてはならない」
彼は残念そうに微笑み、首を振った。

"Certainly, my friend. We are both busy. We will speak again later."

「そうだな、友よ。我々はお互い忙しい。また後で話すことにしよう」
