“A brown, a black… Some mighty fine horseflesh. That gray one sure looks like trouble to me, thought.”
「茶色いのも、黒いのも…良い馬肉になるだろう。あの灰色のやつは、ちょっと面倒そうだがな」

“Sound and hale, from nose to tail. Might be a bit tough to handle.”

Clanton inspects the black’s teeth.
“Too young to tell if he’ll be anything for stamina, but he’s spirited... Healthy coat, clean form. Best of the lot, I’d say.”
クラントンは黒馬の歯を調べた。
「若すぎるからスタミナがあるかどうかは分からないが、元気があるな。健康的な毛並みに綺麗なフォーム、言うなれば、この中では一番だな」

“Don’t much like the look in his eye. I imagine some day it’d come down to him or me…”
「そいつの目は好きじゃないんだ。いつか、そいつか俺が決着を着ける日が来るんじゃないかって思うのさ」

「わかった。ここで入札していきなよ」
